Privacy Policy (POPIA)
Last updated: 2 November 2026
1. Who we are
RebarMaster SA is the responsible party for personal information processed through the Platform, in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
2. What we collect
Account details (name, email address), sign-in records, subscription and billing references, project data you save online, and basic technical data such as browser type.
3. Why we collect it
To create and secure your account, save and sync your projects, provide support, process payments, meet legal obligations and improve the Platform.
4. Storage on your device
Projects are also kept in your browser's local storage so you can work offline. Clearing your browser data deletes this copy; your online copy is unaffected if you were signed in.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who host, authenticate or process payments for us, under contractual confidentiality, or when the law requires.
6. Cross-border transfer
Our hosting providers may store data outside South Africa. We use providers that offer protection comparable to POPIA, as section 72 requires.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and per-user data isolation. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify you and the Information Regulator of any compromise as POPIA requires.
8. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
9. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as your account is active or the law requires, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
